These baskets come from Yikene village in the Bolgatanga area of Ghana, and are traditionally used for carrying goods to and from the market. This is the village of Yikene’s interpretation of a 2 handled shopper. Weavers in the region use the abundant Veta vera grass to weave these incredibly hardy, useful baskets. Easily reshape your basket by quickly submerging in water, reshape by hand and let basket dry.
