Clean & Healthy is Sexy

The Community Says...

Since we’re all living in spaces of varying uncertainty given the looming menace of Coronavirus, there could hardly be a better time to talk about the importance of personal health and cleanliness.

In the recent article series Be your own #1 I mentioned that achieving oneness “means seeking balance in your mental and physical health, learning to work through anxieties and stressors, and taking ownership of your actions… It also means doing right by yourself first, because only then can you give your best to the people closest to you.”

Being the cleanest and healthiest version of you is important in so many ways...

Physical Attraction

Regardless of size, shape, color, or age every single one of us possesses physical beauty. Critical friends and family, bullies, the media, advertising, Hollywood, and the like, can make it difficult for us to appreciate our attractive features, but they’re a natural part of all of us nonetheless. Acknowledging this is a wildly important step to presenting your best self.

Don’t ever listen to someone who tells you it starts with a treadmill or some diet fad, they are trying to sell you something. Forget fitness level for a moment. You can present the healthiest natural version of what you’re workin’ with now.

Personal hygiene alone is a great foundation to build from. According to SolvHealth “Good personal hygiene habits include brushing your teeth, bathing or showering, and wearing clean clothes… Good hygiene can boost your confidence and self-esteem and make you seem more positive and attractive to others. Good hygiene can indirectly boost your success at work, in the gym, and in scenarios that require you to be at your very best.”1

Presenting our healthy selves is amazing in that it attracts others. It doesn’t mean we need to be the most “fashionable” or the “fittest”… It means we’re laying the groundwork for presenting what we actually bring to the table.

OF EQUAL IMPORTANCE… We should be supporting and celebrating each other’s healthy achievements.

Confidence

Putting forward a clean version of ourselves is an excellent confidence booster, and this is particularly true when we make it part of our daily routines.

Routine itself can be difficult for many of us, but quite often we fail to realize that it can take much more energy to avoid healthy habits than to embrace them. Letting ourselves go does nothing but add to our stress levels, and contributes to cycles of self-suppression.

Even taking little steps in caring for ourselves can give rise to the healthy confident person in all of us.

Drive & Respect

Presenting our healthy selves to the world both inspires personal motivation and creates an image for everyone around us that we’re driven to succeed… to the point of being inspirational. It commands respect.

Greater Health

Finally, healthy habits and confidence breed greater health and happiness. And the cycle rolls on…

Go forth, show the world your best and be an inspiration to others!... With consideration given to personal space of course 😉.

Health, happiness, peace, love and accountability to all. Cheers!!
